This was our first time making a video for a song one of us actually performed on; Mark has been the bassist for Life in a Blender for more than 25 years. The song is inspired by a wonderful novel, The Tiger’s Wife by Téa Obreht. We wrote/typeset/constructed about 3000 words for the shoot. For the instrumental sections, we wanted to dig up some bones but misread the size of the plastic skeleton we ordered online; when it arrived it was only about a foot tall. The show must go on: We made a miniature shovel, filled our cat’s litter box with dirt and leaves, and waited for the Academy to come calling.
